Secrets of the Coral Reef
Did you know that coral reefs are composed of thousands of soft-bodied animals? Combined they create the largest living structure on Earth and provide home to a quarter of all marine species.
Joining us from his home in Port Saint Lucie, Florida, Dr. Alex Brylske will talk about aspects of coral ecology that are rarely addressed and highlight how science is expanding its understanding of issues ranging from coral physiology to resource management. He will also share both ongoing and emerging threats to coral reefs and how we, as divers, can contribute to successful marine conservation efforts.
Meet your fellow SeaDevils at Kardinal Hall, located at 722 Preston Ave, Charlottesville. We will meet at 6:00 pm for dinner and drinks and the Meeting/Program begins at 7:00 pm.
We offer remote access to the meeting as well via zoom. To join, all you need is a computer or mobile phone. It’s sure to be a night full of food, drink and fun. Hope to see you there!
