March 2019 Club Meeting

CSS Richond Project

Join us as Dr. Mike Nusbaum and Bill Waldrop share the challenges and risks they faced this past summer exploring the remains of the Confederate Ironclad C.S.S. Richmond. Even though visibility is always a challenge in the James River, you will be among the first to see what no human eyes have seen since she was scuttled on the night of April 2, 1865. In spite of the record rainfall this summer, the duo kept at it with the payoff for their efforts happening on the last dive of the season. Come see for yourself the amazing discovery that changed their perception of what could lie just beneath the mud!

Meet new dive buddies, reconnect with old ones, and talk all things related to diving! It’s sure to be a night full of food, drink and fun. Hope to see you there!
