Jimmy probably says it better than I can in his song, “O the
stories we could tell”. The story would be told about three families on
spring break in search of adventure in Belize. Finding things like jungles,
kickichu’s, bull sharks, Mayan ruins, diving the blue hole, fishing and
having their catch cooked on the beach over an open fire, howler monkeys,
exotic rain forests, night diving, etc.
That is some of the fun that the Korbans (Katherine, Dad, Lenny,
and Matt), The Shiffletts (Bruce, Susan, Mary, and Chris) and my family Don
and Susan Finlen had on there trip.
It was great fun diving with these families and watching each of
their skills grow. The kids last years practice their fish I.D. in the keys
so many of the fish they saw were familiar to them. The kids set some new
best for themselves. You will have to ask them for the “411” on that.
Matt likes digital photography. Can you
imagine being this young and having 2 night dives, and knowing many of the
fish you see around you? What a diving future these kids have!
Much of the diving was done on the reef in front of our hotel.
We often did our surface intervals back at the hotel. Hol Chan reserve had
a lot of fish to see. It was not uncommon to see spotted eagle rays, and
southern stingrays. We were encouraged to look in the channel on occasion,
to watch for them.
I would like to thank everyone involved for letting us share our
vacation with you. Hey Lenny, did you know who like his gift? What
adventures will next year bring?
